Hair falls normally but when hair starts to fall more then normal in a small span of time, then the problem of hair loss occurs. Hair falls normally after shampoo and on an average 100 hair strands a day. In fact hair fall is good for it helps in the process of clearing out dead hair follicles and letting new stronger hair grow. But this system is reversed, if hair falls on a regular basis after every comb and you can actually feel thinning of scalp.
Who suffers with hair loss problem?
Hair loss can happen to any one but it is more prominent in the age group 40 onwards. hair loss after 50 years of age is normal and mostly accepted trend. But the real problem occurs when hair loss occurs in your peak age that is teen age or around 30’s. This leads
to low self esteem and confidence because in today’s world first impression is the last impression and an individual with hair loss problem can not make the required impression. Hair loss occurs in both the sexes, men and women though it is more prominent among men.
Cause behind hair loss
Hair loss is common among men and there are two main factors that cause hair loss in males known as baldness-
Genetic reason – if there is a history of baldness is in the concerned person’s immediate family, and then there are fair chances of hair loss. So one needs to take extra care in such a case.
Men have a hormone in their body known as Androgen. If there is excess of this hormone in one’s body it is fatal for it leads to hair loss.
In some patients hair loss is of more severe degree caused due to immunological disease, Alopecia Areata. This causes patches of total hair loss.
Some diseases and treatments cause hair loss that can begin as temporary but lack of care can accentuate the problem to a more permanent type.
Types of hair loss
Hair loss has various patterns. Usually once the hair loss begins, the hair follicle becomes shorter and hair strands shorter and thinner. Partial baldness occurs in a pattern, with receding hair line from the temple towards the centre. Gradually this patch smoothens thus the chances of hair growth are reduced. The time taken for hair loss varies from person to person. If the hair loss is triggered due to some treatment, it is much faster.
Treatment for Hair loss
There are various treatments floating in market for hair loss.
Some are natural and herbal treatments. Such treatments serve the purpose when there is initial hair loss.
For hair loss of higher degree there are various medicines, medicated oil and medicated shampoo, they help to considerably reduce he hair loss. These treatments improve partial baldness.
For total baldness one has to look for surgical and laser treatments like hair weaving, hair transplant. These treatments are on higher side of expenses but then one has to also remember that the problem is of higher degree in this phase.
